Chenyang received his BEng degree in Computer Science and Technology at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 2019, one of Asia’s leading universities for Computer Science. He was a member of Zhiyuan College, a selective institution within STJU for advanced students.
His final-year research project was related to data stream mining and concept drift. As part of this programme, he was selected as one of the highest-ranking students for a visiting programme at Oxford, where he undertook research into deep learning models for healthcare data, which led to a patent filing with Oxford University Innovation.
Chenyang is a Clarendon Scholar at Oxford, and a member of Keble College.
Chenyang’s DPhil focuses on predicting drug resistance of TB using genetic data from bacteria. He aims to develop various kinds of machine learning models to improve our understanding of complex drug resistance.
Biomedical Signal Processing and Instrumentation
Chenyang’s work utlisies date from a worldwide collaboration entitled Comprehensive Resistance Prediction for Tuberculosis: an International Consortium (CRyPTIC) to speed up diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB).
