Rongxin Su is a Chair Professor at Tianjin University, China, and a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford. He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University and was previously a visiting scholar at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is a Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry and a Fellow of Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology. His research focuses on biomaterials and functional biointerfaces, with particular interests in nanocellulose-based hydrogels, tissue engineering, bioadhesion and antifouling surfaces. His group develops bio-based hydrogels and functional materials for wound healing, wearable bioelectronics and other biomedical applications, while investigating molecular and interfacial mechanisms underlying protein adsorption, cell–material interactions and biofouling.
