Linshan completed her BEng in Bioengineering at the University of Sheffield in 2019, where she investigated Drosophila brain network controllability under Professor Daniel Coca. Her work identified relationships between control profiles and functional categories of brain units, with applications in brain visualization, robotics, and clinical diagnostics.

She earned an MSc in Translational Neuroscience from Imperial College London in 2020, conducting research in Professor Simone Di Giovanni’s lab on the roles of metabolic, immune, and microbiome systems in neuroregeneration after nervous system injuries.

Linshan completed her DPhil in Surgical Sciences at the University of Oxford in the Neural Interfacing Group, supervised by Professor James FitzGerald and Professor Brian Andrews. Her research focused on implantable devices to enhance neuromuscular recovery, particularly in denervated muscle reinnervation.

Now, as a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Cathy Ye’s group, Linshan works on the UK Brain BioLink project and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including neuroscientists and clinicians to research on advancing functional human neural tissue preservation to allow researchers to share tissue samples and pool resources.
