Dr. Yingyu Yang is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, University of Oxford, working with Prof. Alison Noble. As part of the COCHE project, her research focuses on explainable and representation-learning approaches for fetal echocardiography, with applications to cardiac video understanding and congenital heart disease detection.

She received her DPhil from Université Côte d’Azur and conducted her doctoral research in the Epione team at Inria Sophia Antipolis under the supervision of Dr. Maxime Sermesant. Her PhD research focused on AI methods for adult cardiac imaging and physiological signal analysis, particularly echocardiography and ECG.

Her broader research interests include self-supervised learning, multimodal learning, and interpretable AI for understanding cardiac anatomy, motion, and function, with the goal of developing clinically meaningful methods for cardiovascular imaging.
