Cardiovascular
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the primary cause of death globally, accounting for one-third of global mortality. X-ray angiography is the gold standard imaging technique for the diagnosis of CVDs and detection of coronary blockages during real-time cardiac interventions, whereas MRI and CT are gold standards for the diagnosis of cardiac structures, functions, and tissues.
We are working on several projects introducing novel AI- and machine learning-based techniques (including geometric deep learning) that aim to improve the current patient care pathway with early diagnosis and risk prediction, as well as the integration of multimodality data in real-time to facilitate cardiac surgeries (interventions).
